Is anyone interested in doing Dance Marathon? I personally am not thrilled about the prospect of spending 24hrs anywhere without a bed, or raising the money, but I think our club kinda lends itself to this sort of philanthropy. If we decide to do it, we should sign up as a team and offer to do a DDR demonstration. We could bring some cheap pads and let other people try.

Ok, guys. I'm not seeing alot of response for this idea. Sam's right, it is for a good cause, but if we don't have the time to beg people for money and what not, then we don't need to do it. Anyways, please post your thoughts. If you don't wanna do it, I still wanna know.

The actual event takes place on Feb 3-4 (Friday and Saturday). I don't think you are required to stay the whole time, but I've never done this before, so I don't really know.

well we do need the spare money, so I think we should get together and do it. I mean if we want to get some money up for the team we should all do it.. what does everyone think?

Let me clarify. We get no money for this. It is a charity. Infact, we pay money to do this.
Here's how it works. Each participant pays $25 dollars to enter. That can be waived if you give them 30 names of friends and family that they can write letters to for donations. Then each participant has to obtain $175 in donations, through letters, bake sales, your own pocket, etc.
Now you know, so what do you think.

wah, that is a lot of work though. Ummm, I thought it was just collecting money from a dance. What does everyone else think?

I fail to see the correlation between kate's latest description of the event, and a "dance marathon" :< donations, sending letters, bake sales, money out of pocket != Dance marathon

I have a link very clearly marked in my first post that tells you all about Dance Marathon. Please read it. What happens is you collect the money for kids with cancer and then you get to go to this 24hr dance party. The reason it is 24hrs is to represent the amount of time people with cancer have to stay up while they are undergoing chemotherapy. Now you know. Sorry if I confused everyone. I thought everyone knew what dance marathon was. They advertised for it all over campus a few weeks ago...
