So, I have started to develop a taste for TV. Logan and I just finished watching the first season of Boston Legal, and it was delightful! First of all, in addition to William Shater (who is hilarious) playing a leading role in the series, several of the other actors in the show also played characters in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. But if you are not a Star Trek fan, do not be deterred. This show is simultaneously hilarious and thought provoking. The main character, Alan, has an interesting sense of morals and humor. Plus, he is teh PWN at teh laws. Other TV shows that I've enjoyed include the first season and a half of Gray's Anatomy (but after the code black episode it goes waaaaay down hill... seriously) and the amazing Arrested Development. Anybody else got any TV they wanna recommend?

Scrubs is awesome, but you'll want to start off with the first season (2nd season is good too I guess). The later seasons are harder to get into if you aren't familiar with the characters it seems. (Weekdays, comedy central, 7-8pm EST) I think the beginning of season 2 is currently playing actually. You should also start watching season 1 of heroes until the new season comes out next month \o/ Eureka is a pretty good show that comes on once a week on Sci Fi channel. Not sure of the day cuz my mom records it at home and I'll watch it there. That's a show you can just jump right in. I don't watch much else either. Other than the 4-5 episodes of scrubs that randomly show up throughout the day that is

I tried to watch Eureka, but the first episode didn't really hook me. I must get better, right?

You should def. check out "Dead Like Me." It's rather humorous and well-made, not to mention its power level is above 9000! It's off the air now, so you'll have to watch the DVDs or *ahem* something. Matt, I saw a smattering of episodes when I was back home the past couple of weeks. They were still good, but the whole missing-multiple-seasons kinda threw me for a loop. It wasn't much help that I just watched random eps either . What season are they on, btw?

@feather: Actually, for scrubs, it depends on what time you see them. At 11am-12pm, I think it's season 5. From 7-8pm, it's season 2. The last time I checked these was about a week ago, so they may have moved forward a little bit.
@ Kate: I haven't actually seen any of the 1st season of Eureka, but I was still able to get hooked on a few I saw recently. Iunno, maybe you should check it out a little more.

I also have watched the first two episode of dead like me, and it hasn't done much for me either. I pretty much agree with the girl. Why the heck does she need to go kill people? It must get to be a better show too...

You know what? First episodes really suck... Like for example, Firefly, a really good show, with a really lousy first episode.

Yeah true. Scrubs is the same exact way. The 2nd episode and beyond are so much better than that one. And interesting tidbit is that the 1st episode was the only one not shot at Sacred Heart (which is the hospital the show takes place at).

Well, I think Dead Like Me is a show that you really have to see a few times to appreciate it. I didn't like the first season as much, but I really liked the second season. It's a shame that canceled the show so they could make room for FAT ACTRESS. I mean, what the hell?
Anyway, Heroes is a great show. And so is Prison Break. Though, I like it better on DVD rather than watching it each week on TV. It's hard to remember everything that's going on over the course of 6 months. 24 is really awesome too, though I've only seen the first season.
I just watched Firefly this summer, and it was great! It was the most unique type of show I've seen before, sort of a futuristic western. I enjoyed it a lot. And I really like the theme song. I also like how the girl who plays Kayley (sp?) is the girl Catalina on Space Cases. The one with the rainbow hair that screamed sonic waves. Also, she was an "engineering genius" in that show, and she's basically the same thing in Firefly. I IMDBed her, and she is in a lot of sci-fi type shows. I mean, how the heck do you get type-cast for an engineer on a spaceship? It's pretty funny if you ask me.
Charmed is a pretty good show, at least the earlier seasons.
I do enjoy some scrubs, but I have to agree with Matt that I have a hard time understanding some things because I don't watch it regularly and don't really know the characters.

Yeah, DLM def. takes a little getting used to. I watched the first few eps mostly to improve my French (I got one that had French dialogue and subtitles), but after a while I got hooked. It was actually the reason I didn't go into work until mid-afternoon most days . Besides that, I don't watch much TV these days. Invader Zim is good if you can find it. I really liked the manga version of Death Note too. Hey, maybe you can watch Grey's Anatomy, cuz that's EXACTLY how life in the hospital will be like ;D.

Grey's is actually quite popular around here, but as I said, it has seriously jumped the shark...
However, Zim is always awesome!

Ah, right. Totally missed that part o' your post, Kate >_<. But hey, rather than TV, you should get a sub to Netflix or Blockbuster. I got lots of really good foreign films (mostly French and Chinese) over the summer. 'Course, part of it was for practice, so YMMV

Isn't it?! I love how there's some huge plot twist at the end of every single episode. I hope season 2 is just as good (2 episodes have already aired, so you should try to catch them online).
