Hey everyone,
Our DDR club and RedOctane will be holding the second annual Dance Dance Revolution Tournament at the University of Tennessee. Here is the information.
Who: Competitors must be students or faculty at the University of Tennessee. Club members of the Re(VOL)ution pay $2.00 to enter (must be wearing club shirt) and non-members pay $5.00. Drinks will be provided for competitors.
When: April 21, at 6PM. The pads and console will be set up at 5PM for anyone that wants to warm-up.
Where: North Carrick Residence Hall Main Lobby on the University of Tennessee campus at Knoxville
What: We will be playing RedOctane's "In the Groove" on PS2. We will be using the big TV in North Carrick set at eye level. Dancers will dance on Cobalt Flux hard pads.
How: There will be two competitions, a medium bracket (song levels 4-6) and a hard bracket (song levels 7-9). Competitors can only enter one of the two brackets. Seeding for each will be random, and brackets are single elimination. Each match will consist of three songs (rounds), one picked by each competitor and if necessary the last will be chosen by judge. A round is won by having the higher total percentage at the end of the song. No handicaps or mods that disqualify ranking are allowed.
Prizes: Prizes will be consist of Two RedOctane Ignition pads, T-shirts, cash, and free memberships to the Re(VOL)ution next year. Prizes for the hard bracket will substantially better that those for the medium bracket, but of course they are more difficult to win.
